Swagman E-Spec 2-Electric Bike Platform Rack Review - 2019 GMC Acadia- Video
Hey everyone, Charles here at etrailer, and today we're taking a look at the Swagman E-Spec Bike Rack on our 2019 GMC Acadia. This bike rack is gonna be great for carrying those extra heavy electric bikes as you can carry up to 70 pounds per bike. It's also gonna be great if you have a motor home fifth wheel travel trailer, or if you wanna flat tow this on your journeys as well. It's gonna be made out of a steel construction, so it's gonna be very durable, lasts a long time, and it's finished with a black powder coat, making it rust resistant. Since we are being held on by the frame mount, it's not gonna be great for your carbon frame style bikes as it might work or damage the frame. Something to keep in mind. more

Saris MHS 2 Bike Rack Review - 2019 GMC Acadia- Video
Hey everyone, Charles here at etrailer and today we're taking a look at the Seris MHS modular bike rack on a 2019 GMC Acadia. Because of the double tire hold, this bike rack can accommodate a lot of different kinds of bikes, especially your carbon frames and those with a custom paint job, pretty much the only kind would be those with a fender and it does have a tilt away feature, which is awesome. The only problem is with our long handlebars here. Our hatch is going to make contact at about right here but we can just take the bike off to be able to access that. We are gonna have three attachment points, a strap for the front tire and then two of the wheel mounts. To take the bike off, we're gonna start with the strap and just get that out of the way. more

Saris Door County 2 Electric Bike Rack Review - 2019 GMC Acadia- Video
Hi, everyone. Aidan here with etrailer.com. And today we're gonna be taking a look at the Saris Door County Bike Rack here on our 2019 GMC Acadia. Now the Door County is going to be a platform style rack, holding the bike down in these trays with two wheel straps and primarily holding it upright with this clamp around the frame here, that is gonna mean that our carbon frame bikes we're probably gonna wanna avoid just because we do have some pretty big frame contact and it's clamping down on that frame. So we don't want to damage it. But with the way this attaches down here rather than like a hook on the top tube, I think our alternative frame bikes are gonna be just fine. more

RockyMounts Hitch Bike Racks Review - 2019 GMC Acadia- Video

Now the GuideRail is a platform-style bike rack that will hold the bike in these trays by the tires. So that means we're gonna have zero frame contact making this good for our carbon frame bikes, our alternative frame bikes, and with a 60 pound weight capacity, per bike, even good for some of our e-bikes with that battery removed. Now, personally, I like this style of holding the bike because it's really easy to load and unload and you still get a really good hold on the bike here. more

Kuat Hitch Bike Racks Review - 2019 GMC Acadia- Video

Now, the Transfer is going to be a platform-style bike rack holding the bike by the wheel here. So, that means we're gonna have zero frame contact making it good for our carbon frame bikes, our alternative frame bikes, and it does have a 40 pound weight capacity in this version. This is the version that'll work with an inch-and-a-quarter hitch or two-inch hitch. If you are looking for a higher capacity of 60 pounds per per bike, you can check out the exclusively two-inch version that will boost your capacity just a bit and be better for those e-bikes. But either way, they're gonna both function the same way. more

Inno Hitch Bike Racks Review - 2019 GMC Acadia- Video
Hey everyone, Charles here at etrailer, and today we're taking a look at the Inno Tire Hold bike rack on a 2019 GMC Acadia. This bike rack is gonna be great for holding a lot of different kinds of bikes because it is being held on by both of the tires. So your carbon frame, your custom paint job bikes are gonna be great on this bike rack. Pretty much just those with a fender probably wouldn't work well for you. But we're gonna have 60 pounds of weight capacity per bike. And it does tilt away, but unfortunately, on our Acadia here, it does not make clearance past these longer handle bars right here. more

Swagman Hitch Bike Racks Review - 2019 GMC Acadia- Video
Hey, everyone, Charles here at etrailer, and today we're taking a look at the Swagman Chinook bike rack on a 2019 GMC Acadia. This is gonna be a great bike rack to use to transport your bikes of up to 45 pounds each. Since it is a frame mount, you probably wouldn't use this on a carbon frame style bike, but it is gonna be made out of steel, so it's gonna be very durable and last a long time, and it's finished with a black powder coat, making it rust resistant. One of the great features about this rack is that it does tilt away using this lever on the back. We can still keep our bikes on the rack without having to take them off, and be able to access our hatch to grab our helmets, waters, whatever we need for our bike ride. We're gonna hear it snap back into place and that's how we know it's secure. more

Hollywood Racks Road Runner Hitch Bike Racks Review - 2019 GMC Acadia- Video
Hey, everybody, welcome to etrailer.com, I'm Bobby and today we're taking a look, at the Hollywood Racks Road Runner 4 Bike Rack Carrier here, on our 2019 GMC Acadia. Now this can be an excellent way of getting your bikes to the trailhead, now with hanging style, your biggest issues, you're gonna have a lot of sway on your bikes, and what that means, they're gonna be bumping into each other they gonna be scratching each other, It's just making small, minor dinks and damage to it, so eventually, your paint's gonna start wearing off, your bikes just aren't gonna look as good. Now that doesn't mean that any aren't great, you're getting four bikes to the trail head with you, but you know, it's never great to actually do any damage to our bikes, that's where the Roadrunner comes in, it's gonna do an excellent job of really reducing the play and sway that our bikes are going to feel even with four bikes on here, and what I mean with that, you're getting a lot of great anti-sway control. At the top here, you can see we have this nice vertical posts for our anti-sway cradle here, gonna do a very good job of covering a lot of our bike, really reducing that innate play that's gonna have, so it's not gonna be swinging as much, and if it does swing, it's gonna return right back to where it was relatively quickly and fast to where we're not making any contact with our bikes. We also have at the bottom here, this nice anti-sway bar control, now what this is gonna do, to allow you to utilize the included cam buckle straps, to run this through all of your tires and each into those posts, that way you can really make sure that this guy a isn't doing this whole motion, but be, isn't gonna be swaying back and forth on this guy, so that four, therefore, they're not gonna be bumping into each other, not gonna be doing any kinda damage to yourself, and that's really the name of the game with the road runner, it is that nice hanging style, and it's really reducing all of that sway. Taking a look at the cradles themselves though, nothing too crazy got a pretty nice little rubber strip here to hold these guys on to. more

Speaker 1: Today on our 2017 GMC Acadia we're going to be installing Reese's Explore Four Bike Rack, Part Number 63124.This is a lightweight and compact four bike rack carrier. It's going to carry each bike by the frame.Supporting your frame you'll have a V shaped rubber strap, and it locks into place with the hook and loop fastener.This bike rack will work with any bike that has a straight frame so if you have a fat bike, road bike, dirt bike as long as the frame is nice and even, it will fall in there nicely. If you have an obscure frame there is an adapter that can be made to allow your bike to work with this rack.And while it's all loaded up with your bikes you can pull the pin here . and tilt your bikes down. Giving you access to your rear compartment.As you can see it fully opens with no collisions. So you can get any items that you may need in the back without having to take off all your bikes.And to put it back you simply lift it back up into position and reinstall the pin.When you're ready to remove your bike simply pull the straps off and your bikes gonna be fully supported making it easy to lift it and set it aside.And you can reinstall the fasteners. more

Now we already have our bike secured down, and we're first going to show you one of the key features of this rack.We're gonna come to our rack and push down just a bit on the rack, and pull out on our lever down here. When we pull out, we're able to tilt our bike rack away from our vehicle. In this position we are gonna gain full access into our back hatch area to get anything in or out that we may need.What's great about this rack is that we won't have to worry about taking anything off, and we can still see an in between the vehicle and the bike rack to get out those larger items. We'll close our hatch up, then we can lift up on our rack and that locks into place.Now, how our bike is secured down here at the back, we have a cam buckle strap. We're just going to push on the gray cam on the opposite side and pull that strap through. more

That part number is TH9044.Now the first feature we want to go over is one of the key features, our tilting. So we're going to pull out on our pin here at the back, then we're going to pull down on our lever, and tilt our bike rack away from our vehicle. Now we do want to make sure we hold onto our bike rack as well as our bike when we tilt it away, but in this position we are going to gain full access into our back hatch area to get anything in or out that we may need. What's great about this is that we don't have to worry about taking our bike rack or our bikes off of our vehicle, and we can also stand between our vehicle and our rack to get those larger or smaller items. Once we close that up we can lift our bike rack up back into place, and we'll take our pin, and we want to make sure we replace that as well. more

Speaker 1: Today, on our 2017 GMC Acadia, we're doing a test-fit of the Yakima Holdup Platform-Style 2-Bike Rack, that part number is: Y02443.Now, we already have our bike secured down, we're first going to show you one of the key features of this rack. We're going to come here to the side to the red pin, we're going to pinch that together and pull it out. Then we can tilt our bike rack away from our vehicle with our rack fully loaded. In this position, we are not going to be able to gain full access into our hatch because of our handlebars here that would make contact. These are pretty short handlebars, so you probably won't have any luck with any other bikes, but we have a little bit of access back there to get out smaller items on the side. When we're done, we can lift our bike rack straight up until that clicks into place.Now, back here, if we pull up on our red pin and pull our strap through, we can loosen that up. more

Curt Hitch Bike Racks Review - 2012 GMC Acadia- Video
Today in our 2012 GMC Acadia we're going to be test-fitting the Curt Two Bike Platform Rack for Fat Bikes for 1-1/4" and 2" hitches, part number C18085-FB. We already have a bike installed on the rack, let's take a closer look and show off some of the features. One of the more prominent features about this bike rack is the fact that it can carry up to two fat bikes on the rear as long as the tire size isn't any wider than 4-7/8". Also, it does tilt away from the vehicle with both bikes still attached. To do that, at the base here you're going to see two pins. There's going to be a smaller one here and the larger. Remove the larger pin first like so, then lift up slightly on the rack and release the second. more

Today, on our 2012 GMC Acadia, we're going to be test fitting the Malone Hanger Three Bike Rack for inch and a quarter and two inch hitches, part number MPG2127. We already have a bike installed on the rack. Let's take a closer look and show off some of the features. How the bike is held into place, we're going to have two points of contact. We're going to have this strap up at the top here, and this one off to the side. That's going to serve as an anti-sway cradle to keep the bike from moving too far back and forth and making bike to bike contact. The cradles are adjustable, and can be cinched down into place by tightening down the screw at the bottom. more

Yakima SwingDaddy Hitch Bike Racks Review - 2017 GMC acadia- Video
Today on our 2017 GMC Acadia, we're going to be test fitting the Yakima SwingDaddy 4 Bike Rack, part number Y02464. We already have a bike installed on the rack, let's go and take a closer look and show off some of the features. We have two ball loppers on the ends here on both arms and we also have these padded cradles here. Once you put the bikes in place, they will not get scratched up and we have the easy to use zip strips to hold them in place. It'll grab your bike by three points. We're going to have two strips up at the top and one off to the side, that's going to be your anti-sway cradle to keep the bikes from moving too close to each other. more

Swagman Hitch Bike Racks Review - 2017 GMC Acadia- Video
Today on our 2017 GMC Acadia we're going to be test fitting the Swagman XT 2-bike rack, part number S64650. We already have a bike installed on the rack. Let's go ahead and take a closer look and show off some of the features. How this bike attaches to the rack, we're going to have one point of contact at the top of the frame. It's going to be this padded hook up here. Now it is padded so your bike will not get scratched once it's installed. We also have these adjustable wheel cradles at the bottom that can move along the arms here. more

Swagman Hitch Bike Racks Review - 2012 GMC Acadia- Video
Today on our 2012 GMC Arcadia, we're doing a test fit of the Swagman Quad 2+2 platform style, 2 and 4 bike rack. That part number is S64692. Now, we already have our bike secured down. We're first going to show you how we do that. At the back and front tire, we have ratchet straps that are just going to secure our wheels down and make sure they don't come up at all. Today in our 2012 GMC Acadia we're doing a test fit of the Thule Roadway Hanging Style Two Bike Rack. That part number is th912xtr. We're first going to show you how we secure our bike down. We have two cradles with three straps, two on our frame and one as our anti-sway strap. We're going to pull down and lift up on each so we can then remove our bike. Then with that out of the way, we'll replace our straps here so we don't lose or damage them. Now we'll take a few measurements. more

Today, on our 2016 GMC Acadia, we're test fitting the Inno hitch-mounted carrier. It's a 2-bike platform-style bike rack, and the part number for that is INH350. Now, as you can see, we do already have our bike on our rack. We're going to show you a few features of the rack and then also how we strap our bike down to the rack itself. The first feature I want to show you is the tilt-away feature. To tilt your bike away from your vehicle to get into your bike hatch, we're just going to push down with your foot or your hand on that lever there. more

Today on our 2016 GMC Acadia, we are test-fitting the Swagman XC 2-bike platform style rack. This rack is designed to work with 1 1/4-inch and 2-inch hitches, and the part number for that is S64650. As you can see here, we do already have our bike mounted to the rack. We're going to show you how we mount the bike and secure it on there, and then some other features of the rack itself. As you can see, you might be a little concerned that we don't have straps holding down the wheels here. I can say with confidence that all of the customer reviews have been very positive, and that you don't need any straps to hold down your wheels there, and that the frame gooks do well enough for now. To push the frame hooks up, we're just going to push down on this gray lever back here, and we'll lift straight up. more

Kuat Hitch Bike Racks Review - 2016 GMC Acadia- Video
Today in our 2016 GMC Acadia, we're test fitting the Kuat Transfer three-bike platform style rack. This rack is adaptable for inch and a quarter and two-inch hitches. The part number for that is TS03G. Now as you can see, we do already have our bike on the rack. We're going to show you some different features of the rack itself and then also how we strap the bike down to the rack. Now as you can see here, we do have this lever here that's going to help with the tilting feature. If you just push down on the lever while holding down your bike rack, you'll be able to tilt your bike rack all the way down away from your vehicle and that's going to allow you access to your back hatch here. more

Swagman Hitch Bike Racks Review - 2016 GMC Acadia S64675- Video
Today on our 2016 GMC Acadia we're test fitting the Swagman Original Folding 4-Bike Towing Rack for two inch trailer hitches. This bike rack is part number S64675. Now as you can see we already have a bike on our rack, I'm going to show you how to secure the bike to the rack and also some features of the rack itself. As you can see here we do have this one cradle here, now you may be concerned because it's just one cradle but it's holding the frame well enough and I can assure you that it's not going to swing back and forth and possibly hit your vehicle. To undo your bike rack you're going to go ahead and unscrew all this thumb screws up at the top here. Once you get all those unscrewed , you can go ahead and take this plate off at the top. Set that off to the side and then take your bike right of the rack there. Now if you take a look at the cradles themselves, they do have groves all in the middle of them. more
